“Can you be Christian without believing in Noah’s ark, in Jesus’ miracles, and in the violent parts of the Bible?”
You want to be a Christian without “believing the violent parts of the Bible?”
Violent parts like Jesus’ crucifixion where He was whipped and beaten to the point that He was unrecognizable?
“As many were astonished at you— his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the children of mankind— 15 so shall he sprinkle many nations. Kings shall shut their mouths because of him,for that which has not been told them they see, and that which they have not heard they understand.” – Isaiah 52:14-15
You’re not a Christian.
Noah’s Ark Is A Baptism
Noah’s ark was representative of Baptism, which is what happens when we accept Christ – our sins are “washed” away.
“18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, 20 because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.” – 1 Peter 3:18-22
What does the Bible say?
“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” – Mark 16:16-18
- Christians are Baptized into the Holy Spirit.
- Christians believe in Jesus’ resurrection after His crucifixion.
- Christians perform signs, aka miracles, through the Holy Spirit as proof of their belief.
