When things are tough is when people’s actual faith comes through. When God’s Word conflicts with your personal politics or nationalism, do your actions & words show that you live & die by the Word of God, or by your politics?
Let’s talk about how many people aren’t even going to read the previous three sentences before commenting, probably about abortion. They will automatically see “my body, my choice” and not pay attention at all to the fact it’s a mask on the poster, by a Trump supporter, not a Leftist. These people are fools and an embarrassment to the body of Christ.
“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.” – Proverbs 18:2 ESV
Faux-Christians Love Double-Standards
Somehow these Christians believe that women can’t have an abortion because it would cause a baby to die, but those same Christians won’t wear a mask during a pandemic, even though it could cause a baby to die. “My body, my choice” only works as an excuse when Christians don’t care about the person who would die because of their choice.
I can’t imagine why non-Christians don’t take Christians seriously for being theologically inconsistent.
Consider These Verses
“Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:29-31 ESV
“Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people.” – 1 Peter 2:13-15 ESV
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.
Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.” – Romans 13:1-7 ESV
An Excuse To Sin
Next, let’s see how many people will comment with excuses disguised as questions about how they have to disobey the government over issues that have nothing to do with committing sin or denying Jesus. We’ll also see how many people erroneously believe that a vaccine is the Mark of the Beast because they don’t crack your bible, but listen to lots of false teachers who lead people astray.
I purposely am not going to edit this (YT will show if it’s edited at the top) nor will I put any subheadings in so it looks like a lot of text to read. Now let’s get back to the rest of the paragraph.
(Subheadings added to this reprint, not the original post.)
Are You A Fair-Weather Christian?
Is God’s Word only applicable to you in good times, where you don’t have to sacrifice or change anything about your life to claim the title of “Christian?”
“19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV
