The Government Can’t Fix Your Heart Hole

After spending time in politics, Rachel realized that many issues that society faces as a whole cannot be remedied by governmental change. Corrupt politicians, the break down of the family, general confusion and fear about the future were indicative of a problem below the surface – the spiritual foundation of society was crumbling.

Spiritual problems can never be fixed through governmental policy.

Your Won’t Know His Voice If Your Don’t Know His Word

As a Christian since 1990, she noticed that the main culprit of many of the problems arising in society were due to a lack of Biblically sound teaching in the Church, which was on the rise thanks to general Biblical illiteracy of both those in the pulpit and the parishioners.

God Raises Up A Standard

In winter of 2016, Rachel decided that she’d tackle the problem of Biblical illiteracy by creating a YouTube channel geared toward those in their mid teens to late thirties. This channel which would center around explaining the Bible verses by verse in an entertaining way. In addition to explaining the Bible, Rachel knew she had to tackle another huge problem in modern Christianity – answering sensitive viewer questions.

While some people may be interested in understanding scripture, many people just want to know “what does the Bible say about (the topics most pastors are too embarrassed to preach about?)”

Unfortunately, many churches don’t or can’t explain the stories of the Bible in a relevant, entertaining or contextual manner. This was the gap in the market that Rachel saw needed to be fulfilled and one that she was equipped to tackle. Her channel began filming in January of 2017.

Religious Education

Rachel’s paternal family is filled with ministers and evangelists, going back generations, but like Paul being a Pharisee & a son of Pharisees, there is only one letter of recommendation that matters: the fruit of the spirit. If you produce the fruit of the Spirit because you’ve been transformed by the Holy Spirit through Rachel’s ministry, you are her letter of recommendation.

Letter Of Recommendation

“Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God.  Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” – 2 Corinthians 3:1-6 ESV

How Rachel Learnt The Bible

Learning Bible verses and the history of Jesus doesn’t require a theology degree from a seminary.

Here’s the exact kids’ Bibles, cartoons and free apps that Rachel used to get to where Rachel is today.

Honorary Doctorate

Please be weary of pastors who claim titles such as “Doctor.” While there are pastors with degrees from accredited seminaries and universities, many falsely claim educational titles that they have not earned.

Many of these people, especially in Baptist circles, have nothing more than honorary degrees bestowed upon them by friends who run non accredited seminaries and other religious schools out of their basements that don’t even require submitting a high school or college transcript when applying.

My 2019 Honorary Doctorate from Northworst Seminary is about as legitimate as most of these pastors’ doctorates in churches.

Most pastors who call themselves “Doctor” have honorary degrees that are less legitimate than this one bestowed upon me by the satirical Northworst Seminary Twitter account.

COMBAT BAD THEOLOGY - CRACK YOUR BIBLE
#Forgiveness doesn't mean #reconciliation. You can forgive from far away.
That was #theplan all along.
CYB Fam, we have some homework today!
This week on #Crackyourbible, I'm bringing back a special guest to talk about how the false doctrines spoken of in 1 Timothy 4:1-5 are embraced by the church today, especially in relation to the global situation.
"Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it." - Matthew 24:23 ESV
For #2021makeawish, my hope is that everyone remembers that we are our brothers' keeper and that we're to love our neighbors, not try to kill them through our own selfish entitlement.
