Jesus said, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” – Matthew 7:15
Feed My Sheep
Jesus also told Peter,
“When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?”
He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.”
He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?”
He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.”
He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.”
Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.” – John 21:15-17 ESV
A Shepherd Protects The Sheep
This is why I go for the jugular of any wolf who comes near the sheep I’ve been put in charge to tend. I do not play nice. I do not respect wolves who try to attack the flock I’m tending.
The second a wolf is in my sightlines, trying to sneak in with legalism, trying to snatch these lambs and drag them back to the wolves’ den, the slingshot is coming out. If my stones bruise the ego of the wolves and they leave – good.
Let The Wolves Be Mad
I’m not here to save the wolves, I’m here to protect my master’s sheep.
If you think I’m too mean to wolves, good! The wolves can silently listen at a distance if they want to become real sheep – otherwise, the wolf can expect a shepherd’s crook to the face.
